Akiraconsole – Open-source Esp32-s3 Handheld
About the project
AkiraConsole is an open-source handheld built on ESP32-S3, powered by AkiraOS — a WebAssembly runtime that lets you deploy and update firmware OTA without reflashing, like Docker for microcontrollers. Now live on Crowd Supply. First Moldovan project on the platform.

Story
What is AkiraConsole?
AkiraConsole is an open-source handheld built around the ESP32-S3, designed for embedded developers and makers who want a real development platform — not just another toy board.
The problem we solved
Deploying firmware to microcontrollers is painful. Every update means reflashing, every change means a cable. We built AkiraOS — a WebAssembly runtime that lets you deploy and update firmware over-the-air, the same way Docker manages containers. Write once, deploy anywhere, update wirelessly.
How it works
AkiraOS runs WebAssembly modules on bare metal. You package your firmware as a .wasm app, push it to the device OTA, and it runs instantly — no reflashing, no downtime. It supports ESP32-S3, nRF5x, and STM32.
Why we built it
We're PenEngineering, a firmware studio from Moldova. AkiraConsole is the first Moldovan project on Crowd Supply. We built it because we wanted a platform that treats firmware like modern software — deployable, updatable, and portable.
