Lakka Raspberry Pi 3 B+ Support Arrives With Lakka 2.1.1

Lakka Raspberry Pi 3 B+ Support Arrives With Lakka 2.1.1

When I ordered a Raspberry Pi 2 back in 2015, one of my first projects was spinning up a Raspberry Pi retro game console with RetroPie. Since then, I've experimented with Recalbox and Lakka for old-school gaming on the Raspberry Pi, as well as upgraded to a Raspberry Pi 3 B+. On March 14, 2018, not coincidentally Pi day, the Raspberry Pi foundation debuted its Raspberry Pi 3 B+ board. Basically an overclocked Raspberry Pi 3, the B+ proved a worthy pick up. However, at launch compatibility with most existing operating systems (OSes) was temporarily broken. RetroPie 4.4 brought Raspberry Pi B+ support. Now, there's Lakka Raspberry Pi 3 B+ compatibility via Lakka 2.1.1.

Raspberry Pi Arcade Console Hits Market for Almost $250

Raspberry Pi Arcade Console Hits Market for Almost $250

The Raspberry Pi remains arguably the most popular single-board computer (SBC) on the market. With loads of fantastic project ideas, a retro game console is simple yet immensely fun. With software such as RetroPie, Recalbox, or Lakka, a Raspberry Pi board, and a few accessories, you can make a do-it-yourself (DIY) video game console using a Raspberry Pi. Use a Raspberry Pi case such as the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) option from RetroFlag or Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) from Kintaro for an NES Classic or SNES Mini clone. However,as CNXSOFT reports, there's a Raspberry Pi 3-based arcade console being sold for $248.
