The AIY Vision Kit Challenge Contest
We're extremely excited to announce our latest A.I themed contest! Once a buzzworthy niche in the tech world, advancements in the space have enabled at-home makers to get hands-on with artificial intelligence. One of the most popular and accessible platforms is the Google AIY Kit. Mouser Electronics, as part of its virtual conference in September (details to come), is encouraging students, engineers, and makers to compete in its AIY vision kit challenge by offering one of 50 Google AIY vision & AIY voice kits, for free, to the best project ideas! As well as cash prizes and bragging rights to boot!
Prize List
First Prize : 500 EUR & Google Coral dev board
Second Prize : 350 EUR & Google Coral dev board
Third Prize : 150 EUR & Google Coral dev board
All prizes come with a Google Coral dev board
The mission, should you choose to accept it, is to create a Google AIY vision or voice (or both!) enabled device to detect a person's mood. Once that's done, can you improve or enhance that mood by changing environmental factors?
Getting started is easy. Download Google's Joy Detector demo to the AIY Vision kit, modify the code, add any hardware, and build a system that reacts to a person's mood accordingly. Tap into the likes of mood music, lighting, atomisers, voice interaction using the AIY Voice kit, or whatever else you can imagine. Be creative, and wow us!
If you would like to take part in this challenge and get your hands on free AIY vision & AIY voice kits, all you need to do is create an Electromaker account and submit your project idea by submitting this form. We will then send both kits to the people that submit the best project ideas (50 winners in total).
Please note the free hardware period has now ended.

What are the Google AIY Vision & Voice Kits?
The Google AIY Vision & AIY Voice Kits allow makers to build and deploy artificial intelligence projects easily. The vision kit includes an intelligent camera so you can tap into image recognition and tinker with neural networks. The intelligent speaker component within the voice kit offers voice recognition capabilities with Google Assistant baked in. As such, you can combine voice and image recognition for an audio and visual processing AI project. Ultra-powerful yet simple to get started with, both Google AIY kits are fantastic tools with nearly endless possibilities. The neural network can identify thousands of different objects and even identify moods. Plus, both kits pair well with popular single-board computers (each kit includes Raspberry Pi Zero WH!).
