Story

Too many times have I had a spontaneous disco party erupt in my house, but without a disco ball it’s not a disco party it’s time to change it. I made a disco ball that deploys with the press of a button on my home assistant dashboard.

it's very simple to put together all you need is a motor, motor driver, a D1 mini, two resistors, two endstop switches and a power supply.

I designed and printed a Mount to hold all the other electronics and the disco ball, as well as an adaptor for the end stop switch so that it’s definitely pressed when the disco ball goes up.

And now, whenever the opportunity arises, I can lower the disco ball with a button in my home assistant dashboard.
