New Arduino Boards Launched - Arduino Nano Every, Arduino Nano 33 IoT, and Arduino Nano 33 BLE

Arduino continues to offer superb microcontrollers. The Arduino product line complements single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi and ASUS Tinker Board. Recently, Arduino launched a trio of new boards. At Maker Faire Rome 2019 - The European Edition, I had the immense pleasure of getting hands-on with these boards.

First up, there's the aptly-named Arduino Nano Every. Fittingly, it's engineered as an Arduino Nano board intended for, well, everyday use. The Arduino Nano Every, like every Arduino board, flaunts Arduino IDE (Integrated Development Environment) compatibility for extremely fast project creation. It's powered by an ATMEGA4809-powered, and features 4KB flash memory with 6KB SRAM. For device connectivity, the Arduino Nano Every boasts 8 analog inputs.

Arduino Nano Every specs:

  • ATMEGA4809
  • 8 analog inputs
  • 48KB flash
  • 6KKB SRAM
  • 5V operating voltage

Additionally, Arduino unveiled its Arduino Nano 33 IoT which, you guessed it, targets Internet of Things projects. As such, the Arduino Nano 33 IoT adds on WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. The Nano 33 IoT boasts an ARM Cortex-MO+ microcontroller at its core, an ATSAMD21G18. There's a respectable 256KB flash memory, with 32KB SRAM.

Arduino Nano 33 IoT specs:

  • Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth
  • ATSAMD21G18
  • 256KB flash
  • 32KB SRAM

Lastly, Arduino offers the new Arduino 33 BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy). Onboard, the Arduino 33 BLE features Bluetooth 5 and some seriously powerful hardware in a ridiculously small form-factor. Mesh networking capabilities further posit the Arduino Nano 33 BLE as an ultra-versatile microcontroller. An ARM Cortex-M4F processor makes the Arduino Nano 33 BLE appropriate for advanced maker projects such as wearables, motion tracking applications, and environmental sensing. There's a hearty 1MB flash memory paired with 256KB SRAM, as well as an embedded 9-axis IMU.

Arduino 33 BLE specs:

  • Bluetooth 5.0
  • M4 Nordic nRF52840
  • 256KB SRAM
  • 9-axis IMU
