Story

In our previous blog Our Story with Raspberry Pi we mentioned three independent camera modules compatible with Raspberry Pi and Jetson Nano. Among those three camera modules, the most popular one is the Onsemi AR0234CS Sensor-based global shutter camera module which can reach up to 120 FPS. This article mainly introduces the schematics for this module.

Why Global Shutter?

For some applications with fast-moving scenarios, rolling shutter cameras will have distortion effects which leads to the input image data being invalid. Global Shutter cameras perform better.

Details about the Global Shutter Camera Module for Raspberry Pi and Jetson Nano

This camera module is combined with two parts: an AR0234CS sensor-based camera module we previously built for OpenNCC, and a daughterboard with connectors compatible with Raspberry Pi 4B.

What to mention is this camera module offers two different types: Color(RGB) and Monochrome.

Since Jetson Nano also uses the same camera connector as Raspberry Pi 4B, this camera module can also work with Jetson Nano.

We also build an industrial USB camera using the AR0234CS sensor, to secure the connection with long distances.
